- NAME AND PURPOSE:
- The name of this organization shall be the Fair Flite Golf Club.
- The purpose of the Fair Flite Golf Club shall be to promote the interest of golf, good sportsmanship and friendship.
- MEMBERSHIP
- The membership year shall be from January 1st to December 31st.
- The club shall be operated as a non-profit organization.
- Membership of the club shall be limited to 65 members.
- INITIATION FEES AND DUES
- The initiation fee for membership shall be $10.00, payable at the time of the application.
- Membership dues shall be determined annually by the Club Board.
- It is due and payable on October 1st and delinquent by November 1st.
- Any member not paying membership dues by November 1st shall be assessed a $10.00
late fee.
- REQUIREMENTS
- To maintain eligibility, the member must play four (4) tournaments during the membership
year.
- Failure to do so, will result in losing her membership status. Exceptions will be made
for medical reasons, family hardship or special circumstances.
- In the case of medical, family, or special circumstances, the member shall be requested
to submit a letter to the Membership Chair.
- New members admitted to the Fair Flite Golf Club between February 1st and July 1st
must play 3 tournaments to maintain membership eligibility. New members admitted
after July 1st must play 2 tournaments to maintain membership eligibility.
- Any Fair Flite Golf Club member who had quit or did not play the minimum number of
tournaments to maintain membership eligibility may rejoin the Club by paying the
normal dues plus an initiation fee (provided there is an opening in the club).
- Prospective Member
- A Prospective Member may submit an application after the following requirements have
been met:
- A Prospective Member must be sponsored by a Club member in good standing
who has been a member for a minimum for one (1) year.
- A Prospective Member must play as a guest with her sponsor and two (2) Board
Members in two (2) qualifying Fair Flite tournaments. Two (2) attested
scorecards must be turned in with the application to the Membership Chair within
a 24-month period of the initial game played as a Prospective Member.
- Under the responsibility of the sponsor, the Prospective Member must know
basic rules of golf, golf etiquette, accuracy in score keeping and pace of play.
- All scores must be 125 or better.
- A Prospective Member must be at least 18 years of age.
- The Prospective Member will receive notification of membership or status on a
waiting list from the Membership Chairperson.
- All new members are eligible for the prize fund upon the establishment of a USGA
handicap.
- HANDICAP
- Handicap shall be based on the monthly GHIN handicap index report as of the 15th of
the previous month.
- The Handicap Chair shall send the club index report to the Tournament Chair prior to
the monthly tournament.
- Any member can be the Handicap Chair as long as one member in the club is certified
by the SCGA.
- MEETINGS
- Meetings shall be held at the Shinnenkai in February and the Christmas December
meetings. Installation of new officers will be held at the December meeting.
- Board or Club meetings shall be called by the President as is deemed necessary.
- BOARD MEMBERS
- Officers and Chairpersons shall comprise the Fair Flite Board.
- Officers are President, First Vice-President, Second Vice-President, Secretary
and Treasurer.
- Chairpersons are Membership, Rules, Hospitality, Auditor, and
Advisor/Parliamentarian.
- Members of the Board shall be elected for a term of one year beginning on January 1st.
- Board Members have the option to serve a second term if so desired.
- OFFICERS OF THE BOARD
- Officers shall be:

Second Vice-President/Handicap Chair
Secretary
Treasurer
- Duties of the Officers shall be:
- President shall:
- Preside at all meetings of the Club and Board.
- Countersign checks as required.
- Supervise all of the club’s affairs and activities.
- Be an (ex officio) member of all committees.
- Follow and enforce the by-laws and rules of the Club.
- First Vice President/Tournament Chairperson shall:
- Select, arrange, and conduct all Club tournaments.
- Set tournament fees.
- Keep an account of all receipts and disbursements handled through the
tournament table.
- Be responsible for the securing of trophies and prizes.
- Shall assume the duties of the President when the President is absent.
- Shall be immediately installed as the President in case of a vacancy.
- Have authority to counter sign checks.
- Appoint a Trophy Chairperson to assist if needed.
- Second Vice President/Handicap Chairperson shall:
- Keep an accurate record of the golf handicaps of all members of the Club.
- Compile a GHIN handicap index report to the Tournament Chairperson
before each monthly tournament.
- Assume the duties of the President in the absence of both the President
and the First Vice President.
- Act as the Fair Flite Golf Club representative to affiliate organizations such
as SCGA (Southern California Golf Association) and WPLGASC
(Women’s Public Links Golf Association of Southern California).
- Any FF member can be the Handicap Chair as long as one member is
certified by SCGA.
- Secretary shall:
- Keep accurate minutes of all meetings of the Club and submit a copy to
all members.
- Attend to all correspondence and perform such duties as may be
requested by the Board.
- Send card to Club members appropriate to the occasion.
- Treasurer shall:
- Receive all monies of the club
- Deposit same in an approved Bank.
- Pay all bills accepted by the Board in a timely manner.
- Sign all checks as authorized.
- Keep an accurate record of all receipts of dues and perform all duties
incidental to the office of the Treasurer.
- Give a financial report to the membership at the year-end meeting and
provide current reports to the Board when needed.
- Turn over to the Auditor, all books and records of the Treasurer, prior to
the close of each year.

- Duties of the Chairpersons shall be:
- Membership Chairperson shall:
- Assist applicants in all membership applications and procedures.
- Keep a record of all applications and fees received.
- Notify the Board and applicant when all requirements have been fulfilled.
- On October 1st, distribute a membership renewal form to all members.
Collect all returned renewal forms and submit checks to the Treasurer.
- Distribute a new membership roster at the December meeting.
- Distribute an updated membership roster as needed.
- Rules Chairperson shall:
- Interpret and enforce the Fair Flite Golf Rules, USGA Rules of Golf, and
golf course local rules.
- Lead a committee comprised of at least two (2) or three (3) members to
assist in all matters or questions concerning these rules. Attend pertinent
rules meetings and report any rule changes to the membership.
- Hospitality Chairperson shall:
- Be responsible for planning and executing the social functions of the Club.
- Make necessary room arrangements with venues for the Shinnenkai and
December Christmas breakfast meetings.
- Raffle
- A raffle shall be held at the two (2) general club meetings.
- Raffle monies collected at the February meeting shall be used at
the December meeting. Raffle monies collected at the December
meeting will be used for the February meeting.
- Auditor shall:
- Audit the books and account of the Treasurer.
- Review the Tournament Table of Records of the Tournament Chairperson
prior to the end of the year.
- Submit a written report at the end of the fiscal year.
- Advisor and Parliamentarian Chairperson shall:
- Interpret and enforce the Constitution of the Club.
- Be the final authority on all decisions of the ‘golf course and at meetings.
- The immediate or any past President shall hold this position.
- PROCEDURES OF ELECTIONS
- Officers will be installed at the December meeting.
- A majority vote of the membership shall be necessary for the election of officers.
- AMENDMENTS
- The Constitution may be repealed or amended at any general meeting provided:
- The proposed amendment is presented in writing at least two (2) weeks prior to
voting.
- A quorum of one-half of the membership is present.
- Balloting may be done by email. A deadline date to respond must be included in
the email. Ballots received after the due date will be considered invalid.
- QUORUM
- Not less than one-fourth of the Fair Flite Golf Club membership shall constitute a
quorum.
- Two thirds (2/3) of the Board members shall constitute a quorum of a Board.
- ASSOCIATION MEMBERSHIP
- The Fair Flite Golf Club is a member of the Southern California Golf Association
(SCGA) and the Women’s Pub Links Golf Association of Southern California
(WPLGASC).
- The Club may become a member of any other golf affiliation as needed.
